Picture Day

Picture day is coming up on Friday, November 9. That is next week!! Picture order forms will be sent home on Nov. 1. If you want to order pictures (and why wouldn't you, these kids are adorable!) make sure they are back as soon as possible.

New CIA Unit

This year, the 5th grade team is trying on the Reading curriculum, CIA, created by a local Washington teacher. CIA teaches students the Reading strategies of Collect, Interpret and Apply. We finished our first unit that centered around the Realistic Fiction - Adventure book Earthquake Terror by Peg Kehret. I am so proud of the hard work put in by my students and I can't wait to see their new skills continue to develop as we read the next book in the curriculum, Holes by Luis Sachar!

Conference Week

This coming week is Fall conferences. I can't wait to meet the families of my wonderful students and be able to tell them how much I am enjoying the group I have this year!
